I don't believe received an extra small. I have a parrotlet and the perch still looks too wide. I put one in her cage anyway.
My parrotlet, Mojo loves these perches. He is always rubbing his beak on the pumice part of the perch, especially after eating his chop. These perches are his favorite. I need to purchase more!
This perch was the best purchase as it trimmed done my birdie Poppy’s nails, and she loves to stratch her head on it!
Our parakeet's toenails were getting a little long, so we decided to try this perch. Our bird sat on it right away and now it's one of her favorite places to sit. We really appreciate that the top part that touches their sensitive feet is smooth, while the textured part really helps keep the nails in check.
Looks like these perches will hold up a long time and not irritate my birds feet like the majority of all sand perches do.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
is the pumice digestible? i have a budgie and i worry that she might try and eat - or accidentally ingest some.
The pumice is a natural product made from crushed lava. We have not heard of any bird eating or ingesting the pumice, but if you see the budgie chewing any pumice, you should remove the perch. Hope that helps.
What size would you re commend for a canary, and do you shop to New Zealand?
Would recomend a XS or Small. Both would work. If most of your current perches are XS, then go with a Small to provide variety (or vise versa). Yes we can ship to New Zealand. However, due to COVID impacts, shipping times have been all over the map. Just dont want you to be frustrated if it takes a few weeks depending on the shipping option you choose.
