Colorful and safe for hours of shredding fun. Only SFB® uses Safe Shred™ Cotton Rope, which shreds into fine short cotton threads. Others use yarn rope that unravels into long thick sections that can entangle a bird. Big and Little Weave™ is woven by hand into a “Pony Tail” style bundle and anchored together with a stainless or plastic ring, and hung by a bird safe stainless steel quick link. The Big Weave™ is approx. 11 inches long, while the Little Weave™ is 8 inches.

Safe Shreder

My 32 yr old Severa Macaw loves these. She is very particular about her toys but this type toy has been strong and steady throughout her life.

My African Grey has always loved demolishing a new toy to get to the yarn part. That's where the real fun is for him. It was cool to be able to find this safe yarn toy for him. I got the large size. I think it's perfect for any bird African Grey size and up. Or even a smaller bird if they really want to cuddle into it. Either way it's a nice addition to his new cage. Thank you!

I got 2 of these perches give to me by the man who invented these way back early 2001 or 2. I applied for a job at the site he was making these. He was making these in a small steel building I think it was behind his home in Cleveland GA. Great guy. My 2 parrots still use them today 20 some year's later I highly recommend them well worth it . And a big thank you to that man it's made my parrots happy and their nails and beaks well maintained for years.

Green Cheek conure happily approves!

I have 2 green cheek conures (male and female). My female "Sophie" LOVES this chewy toy!! It's my 5th or 6th repeat purchase of the medium size one. Initially I was buying the small size but she tore through it too soon and the large one was enormous and I had a hard time putting it inside her cage when she goes to sleep at night. The medium size is great for her, as she loves to pull ONE crinkly paper out at a time, and walk over to the corner of the "roof" of her cage to chew it and press it until it's nothing but a teeny little "ball" of a piece of paper. The medium one lasts me long enough so I don't have to repurchase as often, and I love seeing her enjoying herself with this very simple but mentally stimulating chewing toy! The only reason I took off a start was because the netting that holds it together has to be thrown away when she's finishing it off because these tiny fibers are worrisome for my Sophie to be chewing on (she will!) after she's finished all the crinkly papers. But I save the silver hooks for other toys I can hang, so that's another little plus to this toy!

Also, I took a couple pictures of her chewing it, along with a video showing how she does it, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to upload anything on my review for this product.
